See where Jack the Ripper preyed on his victims while your guide runs through some of the suspects in this unsolved case. Scotland Yard even considered Queen Victoria’s grandson, the Duke of Clarence, to be a suspect at one point! It’s one of several stops along a ghost walk of London’s most notorious haunts.

Just off Whitechapel High Street, for example, you will find a delightfully sinister arch that leads into the cobbled Gunthorpe Street. This is the street along which Martha Tabram walked with her killer in the early hours of the 8th August 1888 and the surroundings still have a sinister air about them.

Once in Whitechapel, disembark your motor coach and walk this death trail to inspect some of Jack the Ripper’s murder sites, decipher the evidence and discuss the suspects. You’ll even see the Ten Bells pub, established in 1752, where many of the merciless killer’s victims came to drink.

The Ripper seemed to follow a fairly regimented modus operandi when dispatching his victims. In many cases there seems to be evidence of strangulation, followed by the severance of the carotid artery, which caused near-immediate death. Then he performed various abdominal/genital/facial mutilations, to varying degrees. On some victims there were only a few cuts and stab wounds, while others were mutilated beyond recognition.
