Unique to other triathlon camps, SwimTrek’s Open Water Swimming for Triathlon trip is specifically focused on improving athletes swimming ability, often reported as the discipline triathletes struggle with the most.
Based in Tenerife, Spain, guests on this camp will enjoy a unique training environment – a swimming focused triathlon coaching camp specifically centred around swimming technique and practice, but with the goal of making this part of a wider triathlon training plan. The mild climate throughout the year and the landscapes of Tenerife are a major draw card.
With a Swim Smooth certified coach who also comes with the experience of competing in triathlons themselves, guests can join in the confidence that their trip leaders have the knowledge to prepare them to take on their next triathlon goal. SwimTrek coaches will guide guests through the various aspects of open water swimming, from drafting and sighting to arm recovery and stroke technique.
Guests will also benefit from excellent facilities and the perfect environment to help improve your triathlon performance. There will be sessions at the state of the art facilities at Tenerife Top Training, where guests can make use of the 50m open air swimming pool, indoor and outdoor gym and high tech swimming flume with the option to film your stroke. Swimmers will also enjoy sea swims, offering up the chance to get out in the open water and put your newfound skills into practice. Guests will be able to complete circuit training with time to work on specific triathlon skills such as manoeuvring buoys as well as taking longer swims along the coast to help build endurance and confidence in the water.

SwimTrek is running its first ever triathlon coaching camps in Tenerife in November 2019. Prices begin from £1,090 per person based on a shared room. Packages includes a swimming tour led by professional tri-swim coaches and full safety cover, 5 nights’ accommodation and all breakfasts and lunches. Flights and evening meals not included.
